What can I eat at a BBQ?

Your options are endless!  There are numerous vegan burgers, vegan sausages, vegan hot dogs – already prepared and in the freezer or cold sections of your favorite grocery store!  You can make your own veggie burgers, and freezing them in advance of grilling will help them to hold their shape better.  You can barbecue just about every type of vegetable – and fruit!  If it’s your barbecue, you can introduce friends and families to all of these delights.  If you’re attending a barbecue, take some of these items to cook – but take extra!  Our experience is that when people see the beautiful and yummy things you are cooking, they’ll want a bite.  Enough bites, and your dinner will be gone, so take extra!

As to side dishes – again, there are so many choices.  You can make a simple potato salad or slaw (see the Recipes section for ideas), and the wonderful thing about all vegan dishes is that you don’t have to worry about it poisoning someone because it sat out in the heat too long!  Our favorite dressing for potato salad is Vegannaise with garlic and onion powder!
