Ultimate Burger

Serve this burger on a toasted bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle slice and Valerie’s Vegan Thousand Island Dressing.

  • 1 package Lightlife Smart Ground Original

  • ¾ cup dried breadcrumbs

  • ¼ cup catsup

  • 1 tsp. Annie’s Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • ½ tsp. garlic powder

  • ½ tsp. pepper

  • ½ tsp. salt

  • 3 tsp. EnerG Egg Replacer mixed with 4 T water

In a bowl, mix the Lightlife with the breadcrumbs, catsup, worcestershire and spices.  In a separate small bowl, mix the Ener G Egg Replacer powder with the water and stir well.  Add the EnerG/water slurry to the burger mix.  Using your hands, mix together well, than form into 4 bun size patties or 8 slider patties, depending on desired size.  Wrap the patties in parchment, and then in heavy foil and freeze for at least one hour.

To heat, simply remove the patties from the freezer and cook on an oiled grill or in a pan with a little olive oil for about 3 minutes per side or until brown.

Valerie’s Vegan Thousand Island Dressing (from Valerie Wilson)

½ cup Veganaise
2 to 3 T organic catsup (I use 2 )
1 to 2 T drained pickle relish (try using 1 T sweet and 1 T dill)
1 to 2 T finely chopped onion

vdash of Tabasco (red or green)(optional)

Mix all of the ingredients together and stir to blend.  Add salt and pepper to taste.  You can also add a pinch of smoked paprika or a little horseradish.  For a unique taste, substitute chili sauce for the catsup.
