Marinara Sauce

This is our “go to” marinara sauce!  Use it to make pizza, lasagna or spoon it over polenta or any cooked pasta. 

You may also add Boca or other vegan crumbles during the last 15 minutes of cooking.   

 

  • 1 T extra virgin olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 26 to 28 oz. can or box of tomatoes, pureed with juice

  • ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped or 1 T dried

  • 1  tsp. salt or to taste

 

 

Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat.  Add the garlic

and sauté about 5 minutes, stirring frequently.  Add the pureed t

omatoes and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat, add the basil and

salt and simmer, uncovered, for 35 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
